The following trips are just the beginning to a multi year program to inspire youth to pursue a post secondary education while connecting to the land
Our ancestors trail
Students hike between Iskut and Telegraph Creek. Along the way, students are taught navigation and bush skills while traversing the route. Students are also shown what an exploration camp is by visiting a local camp along the hike. Water and plant sampling techniques are shown as well as how to properly document these finds.
Artifacts of Edziza
Students are flown into Mowdade Lake and hike around the western flank of the Mt. Edziza Plateau visiting an Obsidian quarry. Students will then meet up with the younger students hiking between Iskut and Telegraph at Eves Cone. 2018 will be the first year of this trip.
